We’re thrilled to be hosting an introductory workshop to tracking deer with Alex Hatton, registered tracker for the United Kingdom Deer Track and Recovery (UKDTR) with his Large Munsterlander Georgie.
On this deer tracking day attendees will learn about equipment, setting tracks, progressing a dog, shot site analysis, the importance of reading a dog and baying.
Each participant will be given a track to complete of approximately 200 metres and 2 - 3 hours old with deer blood used along the track. Those following will watch each track in order to learn how to read a tracking dog and spot the signs of it being on a track or coming off it. At the end of each track Alex will provide feedback and those following will provide their observations.
Cost: £50 per dog for LMA (Proposed) members / £65 for non-members
