About the Association

Founded in 2023, the LMA (Proposed) is made up of a number of breed enthusiasts with a wealth of experience owning, working, living with and showing the Large Munsterlander. We recognised a need for an alternative breed club given the diverse interests of owners and growing population of owners in the UK. We also want to offer owners a choice.

Join the LMA (Proposed)

A number of owners of the breed have joined together, united in their recognition that another breed club was needed to cater for the needs of an expanding LM audience. We aim to provide an inclusive community for members, with more than 150+ years of combined experience of the breed  sitting within the committee. We also want to offer owners a choice.

We want to offer members the chance to take part in events, training and experiences that is currently not offered to owners of the breed. We aim to eventually seek registration with The Kennel Club to secure permission to hold field trials, working tests and breed shows.

We also want to forge lasting relationships with other breed clubs so the future of the LMA (Proposed) can thrive.

Anyone who is interested in the Large Munsterlander is welcome to become a member of our community. In our initial phase, all members have to be proposed and seconded by fully-paid up members.

Our Mission

At the Large Munsterlander Association (Proposed), our mission is to create an inclusive community for owners, supporters and breed enthusiasts by hosting, supporting and coordinating events, providing advice, and preserving the rich history and safeguarding the future longevity of the breed.
